Oil painting:   Paints: mainly Michael Harding. Surfaces: Arches oil paper or my own linen or cotton duck canvases.

Drawing:  Often Derwent Graphic pencils and charcoal, Rotring Tikky Graphic ink pens. Surfaces: Usually Kent Edition 160gsm or Daler Rowney Heavyweight cartridge paper, sometimes good quality hot pressed watercolour paper (e.g. Sennelier).

Watercolour: Winsor and Newton Artists’  and Daniel Smith.  Surfaces:  Mainly Saunders Waterford 300lb NOT paper.

I make frames for canvases in a simple tray-style in pine and finish the frames with Daler Rowney Cryla Artists’ acrylic.

Frames for glass are usually in a simple style in Ash, left natural or finished with liming wax or ebony wood stain.  I use conservation grade mount and backing card. The glass is either Wessex Pictures WaterWhite float or from the TruVue anti-reflection range.
